Starbucks Reveals New Drink Mixing Two Fan Favorites Together

When you walk into your local Starbucks, are you someone who already knows what to order without looking at the menu? Or are you like me and like to check out the new drinks? Either way, Starbucks has something for you.

With over 50 years of experience, Starbucks knows coffee. The company is always finding new ways to stay fresh—whether that means trying out new flavors like horchata or summer berries or bringing back popular things like free refills and the condiment bar.

The classic drinks will always be there, but Starbucks is also working on new ways to let you customize or improve your drink. One of their newest updates combines two popular drinks for the first time.

I got to try it before it launched; here’s what I thought.

What I Really Think About Starbucks’ New Brown Sugar Strato Frappuccino

Starbucks is now making it easier to order a popular secret menu trick, adding cold foam to Frappuccinos. Cold foam is one of the most loved custom options at Starbucks. Now, it will be added to three new “Strato” (which means layered) Frappuccinos: Brown Sugar, Salted Caramel Mocha, and Strawberry Matcha.

Starbucks' New Brown Sugar Strato Frappuccino

I tried the new Brown Sugar Strato Frappuccino before it comes out later this summer.

It starts with Starbucks’ Coffee Frappuccino, a classic drink that’s been around for about 30 years. On top of that is a thick, creamy cold foam with brown sugar flavor. It’s finished with a swirl of cinnamon.

You can choose to drink it from the top to taste the foam first or mix everything together before your first sip. As a fan of cold foam, I tried the foam first—and it was great. The cinnamon adds a nice spicy flavor that balances the smooth foam.

The bottom Frappuccino layer feels like a fun throwback. It starts off sweet, but the icy coffee flavor quickly comes through. The spiced cream adds a warm, cozy taste that mixes well with everything.

The Brown Sugar Strato Frappuccino shows that small changes can make a big difference and bring something fresh and exciting. I’ll definitely be ordering it once it hits the menu—perfect timing for the summer heat. If you haven’t had a Coffee Frappuccino in a while, now’s a great time to try it again.

Also, keep an eye out—Starbucks is still working on new ideas, and there’s more cold foam news coming soon.
